
This class is available in-person, hybrid (in-person sometimes), or fully remote. In-person students will be subject to our COVID procedures.
Scratch Robotics
This course is designed to introduce students in elementary school to coding - with a twist! Students will complete projects as they learn the fundamentals of computer programming, then will apply those learnings to developing programs for robots they will be constructing. This course will focus on building skills with an emphasis on independence. The students will be able to construct a complete Scratch program for a robot of their choice by the end of this course.
Requirements:

A device where students will be able to use the Scratch program, such as a Windows, Apple, or Chromebook PC

Remote or hybrid students must be able to simultaneously video conference during the class
Cost: $750 + materials ($100)
Per 5-week session.
Materials include the robotics kit and related components. If registering for both sessions, total materials cost is still $100.

All classes include 4 hours of instruction and up to 4 hours of open lab time/office hours weekly.

Complexity of course concepts increases with grade level.
For Session 2, returning students will continue with new concepts and new students will start at the beginning.
